This gondola ride at one of Queenstown's best ski resorts takes only four minutes to reach the Cardrona summit. Providing easy access to one of the best lookout points in the region, you'll enjoy 360-degree views of the surrounding mountains before taking the return gondola ride back down to the base of Cardrona Alpine Resort. It's also the perfect chance to take photos on the famous Cardrona Swing!

At the base of Cardrona Alpine Resort, take as much time as you like to explore the facilities, such as cozy cafes, a range of eateries and the retail shop.

Duration

Departures

• Cardrona gondola operates from 8:30am - 4:00pm (lift pass valid from first lifts)
• Self drive to Cardrona Alpine Resort (allow 1.5 hours from Queenstown & 45 minutes from Wanaka)
• A free shuttle bus is available from Cardrona Pine Trees mountain base car park
• Operates daily during ski season (June - October)

• Sightseeing pass is valid at Cardrona only
• Please note, this gondola pass does not include ski or snowboard access
• Warm clothing, windproof/waterproof layers & sturdy footwear is recommended
• Gondola rides operate subject to weather conditions
• Children under 6yrs & seniors over 75yrs can ride the gondola for free. A pass is required, which can be collected at a pick-up kiosk or on the mountain
• Cardrona Alpine Resort operates as a cashless facility
