The Lake Hāwea to Wānaka bike trail is mostly off-road on dedicated cycle paths and gravel tracks, so you won’t be riding along busy roads. There are a couple of short sections where you’ll cross roads, but nothing busy. There are easy mainly flat gravel tracks most of the way, some rutted paths closer to Albert Town
