Beware: The return ferry option erroneously doubles the price for the trip. The cost for four tickets with return option is NZD 540 but when it comes to payment it is suddenly NZD 1080. Buying two single journeys adds a dollar or two to the ticket price but keeps the price at just over NZD 540 for four pax to Oban and back.
To book a return trip on the Stewart Island Ferry, simply select the 'Return Ferry' option at the time that you would like to depart from Bluff Ferry Terminal. Then specify in the Extra Details section the time and date that you would like to catch the return ferry from Stewart Island back to Bluff.
