Description  

The Raglan Rock Climbing Experience is a five hour introduction to rock climbing on natural cliffs outside Raglan. The session takes place on the fossil limestone walls of Stone Valley, a short drive inland with wide views across farmland and towards Mt Pirongia and Mt Karioi. 

Your guide fits you with harnesses, helmets and ropes, then runs through safe climbing systems. Learn how to belay, read basic rock features and check equipment. Routes vary in height and grade, allowing steady progression at a pace that suits you. Top rope setups keep the focus on movement and technique while your guide manages the technical safety work. 

The Raglan Rock Climbing Experience suits beginners and intermediate climbers who want practical coaching on real rock. It’s also the perfect way to get outside and take in the surrounding scenery.
