Hi, can I rent a kayak for a day and go out on my own without a tour guide?
I would like to do the kayaking tour on March 23 next year. I will be staying at the Milford Sound Lodge but saw that most of your tours left from Te Anau. Would I be able to do the kayaking trip without meeting in Te Anau first? I would like to avoid doing that drive multiple times if possible.

Heya, They do try and make it there however it depends on the speed of the group. So they never guarantee it as they do not know who else will be on the tour.

Yes, the Milford Sound Kayaking is open in Christmas, we would recommend booking asap to avoid missing out :)

Thank you so much for your enquiry. The minimum age for kayaking with Rosco's at Milford Sound is generally 14 years old. You can, however, book the Milford Cruiser or Kayak & Cruise with your daughter as the minimum age is only 8 years old.
Milford Sound Kayking departs from Milford Sound, unless you do the Roscoes Day Safari, then you can be picked up from Te Anau.
