Description

Experience the thrill of horse riding through Queenstown’s breathtaking landscapes on the Shotover River Trail with A M Equestrian. This one-hour guided ride is the perfect introduction for beginners, while still offering plenty of enjoyment for experienced riders. Just 10 minutes from Queenstown Airport, this scenic adventure is a convenient and memorable way to explore one of the region’s most iconic river valleys. 

Set beneath the towering Remarkables, the trail follows the banks of the stunning Shotover River. Depending on the season, riders are treated to a range of colours—from golden leaves in autumn to vibrant lupins in summer. You may even cross a river or two, with your friendly local guide tailoring the pace and route to suit your level of experience. 

A M Equestrian’s horses are well-trained, responsive sport horses, offering a genuine connection for every rider. Your tour includes a safety briefing, horse match-up, and a short warm-up in the arena before heading out.

• Cancellations made between 7 days and 72 hours prior to the date of travel will incur a 50% cancellation fee
• Maximum weight limit of 80kg
• Minimum age is 5 years old
• Maximum 4 people per group, please contact us for bigger group bookings
• Bring your camera, sunglasses & water
• Please bring long trousers, suitable sturdy footwear, shirt that covers your shoulders, sunglasses, sunscreen
• During winter please bring warm layers including socks, gloves, scarf
