Description

Come experience two of our most thrilling adventures jam-packed into one combo. 

Start off easy with the Swoop, the 40-metre high giant gravity swing, as you prepare for your jump, or get straight into it and drop from 43 metres with Velocity Valley's newest adrenaline ride Vertigo. The choice is yours!

Looking down from a height of 43 metres, you will realise that the time has come to drop. While hanging from your specially designed harness high above the ground, be sure to take in the gorgeous views of the farmland, Lake Rotorua and Mokoia Island. Your drop-master will count down from three, two, one... VERTIGOOOO! You drop at a terrifying speed over the amazing, glittering Ngongotaha Stream before landing in the strong safety net!

Swoop is a 40-metre high giant swing, taking one, two or three people at a time. You will be placed in a modified harness and hoisted 40 metres into the air. At the 40 metre mark, you will be counted down and on the count of 3, you will pull the release cord to start the swing. 

You will plummet head first towards the ground as you free fall for 12 metres before the cables catch you and release you into a giant pendulum swing. You can reach speeds of up to 130 km/hr, the more people in the bag, the higher and faster you will swing. So bring your friends and conquer your fears together.

Velocity Valley will take photos and videos of you on both of the rides, which you can purchase to share this awesome experience with your family and friends.

Duration

• Allow 1.5 hours including travel time from Rotorua

Departures

• Regular departures between 9am - 4pm
• You will need to get your own way to the Velocity Valley base located 10kms from Rotorua township on State Highway 5 next to the Agrodome. You can drive yourself or catch the local bus that departs every 10 minutes from town
• Operates daily all year (7 days a week 9am to 4pm; 9am – 5pm during NZ school holidays)

Other Information

• This combo is for one person to complete both rides, rides cannot be shared
• Swoop can take up to 3 people at a time
• Velocity Valley's site is located along the Western road off State Highway 5, Ngongotaha, 10 minutes drive from Rotorua. If you don't have a car there is a “City Ride” bus that leaves central Rotorua every 15 minutes & will drop you right outside Velocity Valley's door! You need to take bus Route 1: Ngongotaha to get here!
• Vertigo participants must weigh a minimum of 45 Kg & be at least 10 years of age. Those under 16 years of age require parental consent
• Those that are pregnant, have a heart condition, neck or back problems or a neurological disorder should not participate in Vertigo or they should seek medical advice & certification first
• All adventure activities at Velocity Valley are Qualmark Endorsed & are members of the Rotorua Sustainable Tourism Charter
